so dreamy

yesterday, i saw "becoming jane" downtown with some friends from work. it was entertaining, despite all the giggling and sighs emanating from the rest of the theatre-goers. i'm usually not one for victorian age movies, mostly because it takes me a little while to understand what is being said. but...this one was pretty good. and i say this because james mcavoy who plays tom lefroy (jane's actual romantic interest) actually made me swoon. when he said, "don't you love me?" to jane and she didn't reply, i wanted to scream "i do! i love you mr. lefroy!"
yup. me. i didn't do it, but i'm afraid i would have if i wasn't already married and wasn't afraid of inciting a scratch fest.

I had that same feeling in this movie too. Mine was during the dancing scene where he isn't there and he isn't there and he isn't there and then all of a sudden, he's there and I could SMELL him. I knew what he felt like just sitting there in that dark theater.
that part killed me. they did a great job of sucking me into those blue eyes of his. for a moment, i forgot who i was.
i really wanted to see that until i read that the story is only like 5% true. i don't know why but that killed it for me.
who cares sarah?! he is too special to miss. don't let the tabloids keep you from this. justin will probably not go with you (pete refused), so i suggest a matinee on your lonesome or take another girl.
i don't know why, but the fact that it's a completely fabricated story about real people bothers me. maybe it's because when i first heard about it i was super excited about new insight into one of my favorite author's life and finding out that it wasn't the case bothered me.
i'll probably see it when it comes to the dollar or on video. whichever comes first.
I've watched the movie pretty much obsessively over the last week. James McAvoy's performance as Tom Lefroy make my heart skip a beat. Even though the movie is not the real romance between Austen and Lefroy, this movie makes you wish that it was.
