Is there such a thing as the Liberal Media and Do they Love McCain?

So I am voting for Mitt Romney. I want a Mormon in the White House. Some of you may disagree (Enter Spencer's name here). I am not big into conspiracy theories and feel that the media in general does more bad than good, but today I might just be convinced that the media is trying to brainwash me into voting for McCain (Apparently he is a lefty sympathizer). I find these presidential primaries fascinating, enthralling, and whatever other adjective you might want to include. But CNN today only made me think all the conservative talk radio I have been listening to might be right. View the headline and comment below.


So does CNN take me for a fool, sucker, boob, etc..? The headline reads that if McCain wins Florida it will solidify his status as the front runner for the GOP and if Romney wins the whole thing is up in the air. Sorry did I say solidify, the proper adjective should be CEMENT. I mean it lists the amount of delegates that each candidate has right there on the right hand side. Romney has almost the double the amount as McCain. So if McCain wins, Romney will be in the same spot that McCain is in now and if Romney wins he will basically triple the amount of delegates that McCain has. So OBVIOUSLY if Romney wins it will be completely up in the air and if McCain wins he will be the clear front-runner (That was sarcastic in case you missed it). Can anyone defy logic and tell me how this makes sense? Maybe the Savage Nation has a point (That reference will only make sense to people who have listened to Michael Savage. He is a right-winging conservative talk radio host who says crazier things than other conservative talk radio hosts, is entertaining to listen to for about 1/2 hour, and after today he doesn't seem so crazy to me)

I guess all I can say is...Goooooo Romney!

childbirth classes?

since so many friends/readers have had kids, i need some advice.

i am a little over 6 months now, and i haven't signed up for childbirth classes yet. pete is totally willing to go with me, but for some reason, i am unsure of whether to take them and what is important. sure, it is different for everyone...but i would love your experiences or feedback.

As I mentioned earlier I love the NBA and i am on ESPN.com at least 1 hour a day. During the day they have these chats with the sports writers. People submit questions and they respond. I have been trying to get a question submitted for at least a year. Well yesterday was my day.



I was super stoked that i got a question in even if the writer told me I'm an idiot. Yeah. I am a nerd, and proud of it.

This website is dedicated to distributing live recordings. The artist has to approve. I have not heard of like 98% of the bands but they have over 200 Ryan Adams concerts, some Toad the Wet Sprocket, and a bunch of Grateful Dead which is on another part of the site.

am i the only one out there that is not on facebook? and why is everyone so addicted? more features? sweet deals? free candy? what?

it just seems that everyone i know (and then some) are on facebook, and i have not jumped on this bandwagon. i mean, i have this blog and my myspace account--which i barely use now. i sign on from time-to-time, but i usually look to see what other people have updated on their page. i, myself, have not done much with mine in a long time. i think i'm bored with it, and i am disillusioned with the site in general.

how many more sites will there be that we tantalize us with joining. the first one i signed up for was friendster. then, lds linkup. after that, myspace. i really don't want to get on facebook, because i'm just not that interested. even though so many of you that i love and wish to converse with more are on it...sorry.

A note to another NBA fan

Its just good to know that there are some other NBA fans out there.

Now if i were a jazz fan and they were going through a rebuilding process, I probably would not mind spending my time or money in support of the organization. It would be a capitalistic venture that I could get behind. A good owner, a great coach, and a good organization that knows how to win and build a winning team. If MJ didn't exist, the Jazz would have won a few titles.

However, being a fan of the T-Wolves is like investing in giant Helium balloons (Like the Zephyr). Yeah it may seem cool for a while, but until they completely change directions its going to blow up in your face every single time. If they fired McHale and hired a good coach, I would probably spend more time and money because I could see they are trying to build a good future product. Its like investing in a new start up. But at the moment, I'm pulling my investment till they shape up. If they end up doing well with the current GM and coach, I guess I will end up being one of those bandwagon fans that comes out of the woodwork. But I will at least be able to name the starting 5 for almost every team in the NBA.

I love the NBA...It's Fantastic

So I love NBA basketball. I know I am probably one of the last true remaining fans of the league, but I love it. My favorite team has been the T-Wolves until this last year. Now its the Celtics.







I have no moral dilemma about this. KG was the reason I loved the T-Wolves. I have had to put up with an inept owner and terrible GM for the last 5 years. Yeah they made one run in 2004, but I think things having fallen apart the way they have is only more of an indication of how bad the front office is. If anyone is the real world was as bad at their job as Kevin McHale, they would have been fired a long time ago. So now I love the Celtics, I have watched almost every game and have only watched a few T-Wolves games.

Maybe some of you die hard sports fan disagree with my flippancy, but I view sports in capitalistic terms. Sports franchises are about making money. The reason they (The owners) want to win championships is because it increases the value of their product. So if they are offering me a crappy product, I feel no obligation to pay my hard earned money and/or time in supporting said product.

I know that the T-Wolves are in a rebuilding phase and maybe I should support them while they are in their rebuilding phase, but I think the owner is terrible, the GM is terrible, and the coach is terrible. The only way I have to express these sentiments is by not purchasing, watching, and giving any of my money to the T-Wolves organization.

However, i am writing this blog because my brother got me T-wolves tickets for Christmas. I am faced with the moral dilemma of going with my brother and spending quality brother time together, or sticking with my resolve not to support the organization. He got tickets to three games and one of the games is the return of KG to the Target Center.

I figure he spent the money and I am super stoked to go to that game, not to cheer the T-Wolves, but to cheer KG and the Celtics.

insanely big and baby gender

sorry i haven't posted in a while. the holidays got busy for us. besides the usual family gatherings, shopping for gifts, writing christmas cards, cooking, and flying...we had to move. i didn't get to post any belly pics in a while, because we needed to get everything out of the old house.

anyway, we are now in our new house. we're slowly getting situated and finding all our stuff again. the belly has changed significantly since the last one. i believe i am now 24 weeks. yeah. i know. crazy.

i'd just like to say: i know that i was going to get plump, but i guess you never know until it happens. i am still not showing my face here, because my hair looked awful today. i sort of just let it dry natural, so it looks way messy. enjoy them.

oh yeah. btw, the baby moves a lot.





oh! i almost forgot. we had the ultrasound the day after christmas. the baby is super healthy, and like we predicted, looked like an alien in the first shot. i wanted to post the ultrasound pics, but pete and i don't have a working scanner right now. sorry. so....without further ado...(drum roll)...it's a girl!!!!

and, no i don't want to tell all of you the name yet. you'll just have to wait. and i'm not that sorry.

Great movie by Oliver Stone. Very interesting film showing the debate around the assassination of JFK.

24 - Memento
Amazing movie. I can't watch it very often though, it is too mind blowing.

23 - Last of the Mohicans
The movie is way better than the book. I loved this movie when I first saw it and I still love it. The music, cinematography, and acting are all unbelievable. I also have a fascination with Native American history. My friend Josh Dunn and I tried to find peyote once, but The Native American Church wouldn't give up the goods.

22 - The Lord of the Rings (Trilogy)
Maybe some of you wonder why this wouldn't be higher, I have a few good reasons. It is too long. I mean it is an amazing piece of cinematic work, but just too long. My favorite story about watching this is Amanda and I went to see the third one in the theater with some friends. In the middle of the scene when Sam sees Frodo at the end of the movie and they basically want make sweet hobbit love I lean over to Amanda and whisper "This is the Hobbit erotica part of the movie." She starts cracking up and the theater was super quiet so people start shusshing her. Oh man. That was funny!

21 - The Natural
The ending scene when he hits the homerun and the lightbulbs start blowing up, I get chills every time I see it. I know that could never happen in real life, but...maybe?

20 - This is Spinal Tap
The first mockumentary by Christopher Guest. The songs are awesome.

19 - Punch Drunk Love
P.T Anderson does such a phenomenal job of building up tension in this movie. With the music, the camera shots, and if I had sisters like that I would punch glass doors too.

18 - Snow Falling on Cedars
I love this movie. It has some of the most beautiful cinematography. I enjoyed the book but I thought the movie was better. I usually like the books more than the movies, but the movie did a really good job. Used a clip from this movie in a Priest Quorum lesson once too.

17 - Fight Club
Who didn't want to be Brad Pitt from this movie? I don't know if any of you remember the original fight club started in Provo. Yeah that was my ward. My buddy boxed in that fight club. It was pretty sweet.

I almost forgot about this movie. So Mark Whalberg got Leonardo's message and killed the rat, right?

16 - Superbad, Knocked Up
I am putting these movies together. They are basically made by the same guys and produced by the same guy. Jud Apatow produced these and he is responsible for some of the greatest comedies of the last 5 years. Check him out on IMDB.com. Superbad is dirty, I know, but I can't stop laughing when I watch it.

15 - Rushmore

Took me a while to wrap my head around this movie. The creative montage set to the Mad World by Gary Jules is one of my favorites.
