no patience, but great show

i don't want to find the picture of my favorite losers from this season's american idol, so i will just let you know...

i love this show. it is genius, but only in the first few episodes. i relish the chaos and tears and deluded dreams of others, because it makes me feel a little less pathetic. i know. i'm kind of a bitch. whatever. you would laugh too. in fact, i know you would. you're my friends, and i only make friends with...the funniest people.

anyway, thank you fox for the weekly entertainment. it makes the end of a long work day so enjoyable.

apparently the end is 5 years nigh

so this book called "apocalypse 2012" just came out. it's by a university professor (unm, i think) named lawrence joseph. i don't know if the guy is for real or not, but his publishers seem to enjoy his insanity or genius. much of his theories come from mayan spiritualists (or astronomers--whatever), shamans, some bible code, and timing of certain natural disasters. umm...yeah. crazy? maybe. if he's basing this on a civilization that became extinct by human hands, i think he may have picked the wrong theory to use. if that doesn't sound enticing enough, the back of the book comments that we are overdue for a mass extinction. better start praying heathens.

why wednesday?

every wednesday, just about, is a day of tragedy for me at work. either a pissed-off customer decides to walk in the doors and needs a manager to harass. or an employee decides to be sick or absent or whatever. or...(yup there is usually more) a tech comes in to fix something which takes up a whole aisle and makes it hard for us to sell or work or whatever. it's one or more of these things.

today, some of the customers were pretty crabby. cold weather will usually do it to a person. i live in a tundra, dontcha know (in the deepest minnesotan accent possible). plus, 2 of my tires were flat this morning and i got to walk in the cold from the firestone to work. i don't think i ever want to feel hypothermia ever again.

more addictions for the new year

so they are running america's next top model on vh-1 for all this week, and god bless the tivo. i am so addicted, and i wonder how i missed this gem when it first came out. so since all the shows that i like are on vh-1 and the discovery channel, does that make me old?

christmas crazies

on christmas eve, i was at work. yeah. suck. it wasn't too bad, really. customers were generally happy, and it was much slower than the previous day. but...i did have a woman ask the angels in heaven to bless that i would find the book that she was looking for. no joke. she even chanted it a little. her prayer, that is. needless to say, i was trying my hardest to find another customer to help.

i feel it

today, on my day off, i watched "flavor of love" on vh-1. now, i am not one for reality tv shows. in fact, i hate most of them. but...any show with one of the most insane rapper hype men around with a whole lotta beeyotches...it is comic gold. the rest of the reruns will be recorded. oh yes. they will be.

flat screen

we have joined more gadget dorkness recently. we got our first flat screen the other day. it's actually pretty awesome, and i like it (even though it cost loads of dough). if anyone wants to come be lazy and watch movies with us, you are invited. you get the uncomfortable couch though...
