snot-nosed kid

i always thought i would be the mom who did not let their kid walk around with snot streaming down their face. i am most of the time, but when your kid has a terrible cold for more than a week and screams bloody murder as you struggle to suction and wipe and pick at their mini nostrils it gets kind of old kind of fast.

this is an example of izzy at lunchtime having some yogurt and then sneezing yogurt and a snot bubble. it was really gross but so funny.

this is my lil' bea laughing and getting excited about something. she is usually very serious, especially around strangers. however, her personality is starting to come out more and more each day.

Hey, if a few boogers make them happy, I say, "Let them have Boogies!"

Awesome... although that first photo does make me feel a little uneasy. Very cute, though. I'm glad you got it on film!

ok. i never thought i would do this, but maybe we should just plan on hooking our little kiddies up one day. we could send them out to byu and arrange a blind-date for them. then our grandkids would be like 3/8 filipino?! she is beautiful!

That is hilarious. I think all moms say they won't be the mom to let their kids walk around with snot noses, but ultimately...it's up to the kid. Paisley HATES it, but she is slowly learning to blow her own nose. We'll get there.

Agh! I know how you feel, Asher is sick right now too and goes ape when I try to pick a very heinous looking booger for him.

i love that second picture, it's like i can hear her laughing as i look at it.

and, yes, getting out the snot and boogers is a pain. i don't understand why they don't like the suctioning, i think it would feel great to have all the snot suctioned out of my nose when i'm sick.

i don't understand either, sarah. it must be the fact that they are being poked and prodded. i must be doing it harder than i think i am or something. i do remember when my mom used to clean our ears, and it would hurt like no other. i think she used to use paper clips with a little bit of tissue wrapped around the ends. she must have thought it got more out.

thanks michelle. i think she is pretty beautiful too. i tell her every day. maybe if she hooks up with your boy, their kids will be darker. perhaps.

suzy, i thought the snot bubble was totally disgusting and i would never let her have it longer than it takes to snap a picture. when it popped out, i reeled back in horror and started laughing. that is why she is so smiley.

I thought my comment went through when I responded to you about the SB diet, but it didn't.

So SB Diet, it's effective and grueling at the same time. I would recommend while nursing to only do Phase 3. It will still give you results, but also keep your milk supply. Once you do stop nursing, start at the first phase, because it works, but it takes a ton of discipline.

My friend walked about three miles a day and nursed and has lost a ton of weight. She looks better than she ever has. You could try that once the weather subsides.

I hope that helps.
