just my luck

i'm not into superstitions or the cosmos or any other type of mystical thing, but i do believe in luck. good luck. bad luck. dumb luck. all of it. i believe that luck is god's humor or wrath. you can figure it out based on what happens to you.

anyway, i have now come to terms with the fact that i am the person who always finds hair in their food. always. i already have a weak stomach, so this doesn't help matters when i spot it. i never return the food either, because i'm too scared to bring it up. perhaps even too embarassed. i don't like conflict, and i fear the chaos that my pointing it out would stir. maybe i should bring it up. i could get more free meals out of it.

i wish this was not my reoccurring luck, but it just is. i'm sure i've consumed much worse than hair in my life. goodness knows we all have. i just prefer to see it attached to heads and not swimming in my thai food.

yucky. we've been there too. but for some reason we've had our share of mixed excitement. a bread bag twist tie in my wrap at applebee's, the paper divider stuck to my "cooked" burger at red robin, and long black hair at fudruckers. we scored free meals with all of them.

You should totally bring it up. if you have that type of luck, at least a free meal would make that luck seem not so bad.

Amanda... I sit here, green-faced and ill, trying to muster the words. But there are none. That is just so wrong. Ever since I was a little boy I remember not liking hair in my food. I don't even like sprouts in my salad, because of the similarities. So, me too.

Awful. Just awful.

some of my problem is that we often get our food to go, and i think i need to start eating in. that would help my situation. sorry to gross you out, everybody.

kendra, i have never had so many miscellaneous items in my food. i did get a moldy english muffin once that the waiter tried to tell me was not moldy. i had already eaten one half, so they figured i was okay. i have never eaten in a las vegas casino restaurant since.

You should totally bring it up. I was a server for seven years and the last thing the restaurant will do is contest a hair in your food. They'll totally give you a new dish at least. They owe you that much!
