wish i didn't have to
although my cats are naughty and can drive me crazy, i can't bring myself to getting rid of them with the introduction of my child into our family unit. so...now i have to get this monstrosity:
these are supposed to help naughty kitties out of the crib and keep your exploring toddler in too. so i guess it is good. i just wish they didn't look so weird.
if anyone has kitties and has had some success keeping them out of a crib without the crib tent, please let me know.
p.s. for those who don't already know or have forgotten, i am due on the 28th of april. so 12 more days!

becca! yes, we did move recently. actually on the 31st of december this past year. we're just in one of our other houses, while it is trying to sell.
anyway, i did get your wonderful gift in the mail. it was such a nice surprise! i was actually going to blog about it to show everyone what you sent. you made most of the stuff right? i am so impressed by your sewing skills. i need to relearn how to sew, so i can have a skill like that. you'll have to send me your email. i don't think i have it. i will email everyone about the birth. i am super excited and super exhausted too. i'm just ready to hold her in my arms and not in my belly.
Wow, I didn't know that you are due so soon. That is exciting. I remember those last couple of weeks...I was so ready! And sorry I have no ideas for your kitty problem. We don't have animals...yet.
Oh my gosh! You must be so excited! I've heard of these crib net things, but I haven't ever seen one. Is it gonna be a pain to get the baby out? Good luck! The last couple weeks are so hard, but you're a trooper!
wow i can't believe how soon you are due~ we have 2 kitties...and have since before madison was born...we did have hem declawed in the front (i know, i know..but they are indoor only cats..so, well..) but we have never let them in when she sleeps. In our room we closed the door so they couldnt get in, and the same in her room. Even now as a toddler they can go in during waking hours but not when she's asleep, and they couldn't even jump in when she had a crib....but good luck~ cats are pretty sneaky ;p
one of my cats is declawed in the front, but the other one is not cuz we got him when he was too old to do so. they are both indoor kitties as well, because i can't handle any extra dirt and dander coming into the house.
i really wanted to keep the door open to her nursery at night, and i could keep it open in the day. but i have to watch over the crib like a hawk to keep them out, because (you're right) they are sneaky. they don't even try it when i am in the room, but as soon as i leave...
i almost think that i need to teach them a lesson with a squirt bottle or a supersoaker. is that mean of me?

I think you should try to teach the kitties a lesson. Put foil in the crib when they jump in it freaks them out. I'd try a squirt bottle, too. AND when you are in the hospital, have Pete bring one of the baby's little hats home for the cats to smell before she comes home.
oh, i'm glad you got the package. it kind of dawned on me that i might have an old address for you guys. anyway, i guess i don't have your email address either. how did that happen? my email is beccagriffin (at) hotmail.
