printing press for sale
so pete and i have this antique printing press in one of the properties that he renovated this past year, and we want to get it out of the house and sell it. i know it's worth something, but i don't know what. i don't know what brand or company made it. i just know it's old, and there are a ton of plates and other stuff that the previous homeowners left behind. for something this big, i think that a lot of other presses are going for $1500 or more. am i wrong? does anyone out there know? eva?

i'm drooling. too bad my house is already overflowing with my printing equipment and inventory. it's hard to tell exactly what kind of press it is, though... 1) because i am not an expert and 2) because it is so different from any presses i've worked on. i'll work on getting you a couple of email addresses of people you could contact who would know better than me.

you have to sign up to be a member, but i think it is relatively painless and the people seem very helpful. once they help you figure out what it is and what a fair asking price might be, you could list it in the classifieds on the same site. i know that's where a lot of people go to look for letterpresses.
That's so beautiful!! But, alas, I don't know much about this machine. What does it say in the 2nd picture in the gold letters where the frame is covering?

The machine in front is a Challenge paper cutter. Cool old school style - worth something if you have someone local that is interested. May be hard to justify shipping it anywhere.
It looks like there is a printing press behind the paper cutter - possibly a Chandler Price. Same value story as the paper cutter.
briarpress.org is a great place to ask questions and even try to sell old printing presses.
oh, i thought it looked like an old paper cutter, but i got confused by everything in the background. wish i lived closer.
